What is IB?
An introducing broker is a partner who refers clients to a brokerage and earns commission on those clients' trading activity.
Stands for: Introducing Broker
IB commission is typically paid per lot traded, as a share of spread, or as a percentage of revenue, and structures are often multi-level so that a partner also earns on sub-partners' activity.
Durable attribution — a link between client and partner that cannot be silently lost — is the foundation of any workable IB system.
